מפרש בריבוע - יום 1

מתוך מייל עם הנחיות ליום הראשון - נשלח ב11 לאוגוסט בכותרת "עוד 75 דקות לתחילת המסע"

Hello! Thank you for pre-registering for Hybrid Pedagogy’s MOOC MOOC. Beginning tonight, Saturday August 11th, at midnight Eastern time, you will be able to enter the course.

A few words before you do:

  1. The MOOC is set within the Canvas LMS. If you are unfamiliar with Canvas, plan to spend just a little time on your first day orienting yourself. Much of the course will take place outside of the LMS, but discovering your way around the course will help you keep up with the activities throughout the week.
  2. MOOC MOOC is an experiment. As such, we welcome you to explore, hypothesize and test, and report your results right along with the rest of us. It’s a MOOC designed for knowledge creation, not knowledge consumption, so feel free to mix, stir, and pour at will.
  3. Throughout the week, plan to post, message, tweet, and otherwise share your thoughts about MOOC MOOC everywhere you usually communicate with your networks.

We would like to thank the English and Digital Humanities program at Marylhurst University, the Writing and Communication Program at Georgia Tech, Instructure, and the folks at ProfHacker. MOOC MOOC was created by Sean Michael Morris and Jesse Stommel. Other contributors include: Petra Dierkes-Thrun, Pete Rorabaugh, Robin Wharton … and You!

To enter the course, visit www.MOOCMOOC.com. Click on “ENROLL ME”. You’ll be prompted to register with Canvas, and then you’ll be in. (Once you’re enrolled, you’ll be able to click on “Take Me to the MOOC” to access the course from MOOCMOOC.com or you can bookmark any page of the course.)

We look forward to your participation this week. If you haven’t already,
check out the original MOOC MOOC announcement and follow @MOOCMOOC. If you have any questions at all, message @slamteacher or @jessifer on Twitter.

Welcome to Hybrid Pedagogy's MOOC MOOC!

MOOC MOOC is made possible by partnerships with the English and Digital Humanities Program at Marylhurst University and the Writing and Communication Program at Georgia Tech. Thanks also to Instructure for their support.

In this week-long experimental online course, we'll be investigating exactly what it means to participate in, create, and even envision a MOOC (massive open online course). We'll be questioning what a MOOC is, how useful this educational format can be, and the new and innovative opportunities toward which it points.
But first...

1.

Interaction is key! You have the option to receive e-mails, text messages, even tweets as MOOC MOOC develops and changes throughout the week. Take a moment to set your notification preferences in your Canvas profile (there's a link to your profile in the upper right). Another way to stay in touch is with the Canvas mobile app for iPhone.

2.

Introduce yourself! Jump into this discussion to tell us a little about yourself, your interest in MOOCs, and where we can find you on the web. Plus, meet the team of MOOC MOOC instructors!

3.

Find us on the web! Set your TweetDeck or HootSuite to follow #moocmooc all week long. Be sure to tag your blog posts and hashtag your tweets with #moocmooc whenever you find yourself ruminating on the course. Use this form to submit the RSS feed for your blog to help us curate your content.
If you don't have a Twitter account -- or you're just getting started with Twitter -- you can still follow along! We've created Dashboard so that you can keep track of MOOC MOOC on the web. Visit anytime, day or night, to find out who's saying -- and learning and teaching -- what.

And, of course, visit Hybrid Pedagogy to get started with some stimulating thoughts and questions!
Thanks for joining us! We look forward to meeting you, learning from you, and discovering alongside you in the days to come!
